He holds the ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) designation from the National Association
of Realtors.
Rod earned his bachelor of journalism degree at UT and was president of the UT chapter of Sigma Delta
Chi and member of Delta Sigma Phi. His senior year he was named a Goodfellow by the Cactus yearbook.
After graduation, Rod worked two years as a reporter for United Press International in Little Rock,
Houston, and Oklahoma City. He then was hired by the the Corpus Christi Caller-Times newspaper and
later joined the Dallas Public Schools where he served as press officer for 20 years. Rod is a nationally
known education writer and consultant. He was senior editor of Better Teaching, published by the
National School Public Relations Association and was publisher of Texas Superintendents' Insider and Safe
Schools News. He is a past president of the Texas School Public Relations Association and a past
vice-president of the National School Public Relations Association. He is a talented professional with an
expertise in marketing. His honesty and people skills make buyers very comfortable in working with him,
and his never-say-die attitude and hard work result in many personal referrals from satisfied customers.
Rod was previously a RE/MAX agent in Plano and along with his wife, Annie, worked as a real estate
team, which attained the highest RE/MAX designations, including Top Teams of Texas, Platinum Club,
and Hall of Fame. He and Annie have six grown children. They bought their waterfront home at 4207
Crescent Drive in DeCordova Bend Estates 11 years ago.
